Claud Butler Majestique bicycle

Claud Butler Majestique

1981

The Claud Butler Majestique is the women’s equivalent of the Majestic which was launched in 1977 to mark the Queen’s Silver Jubilee. It was a very popular 10 speed touring bicycle built with Reynolds 531 ST tubes and 531 forks. As a result the Claud Butler Majestic sold more models than all the others put together.

Claud Butler was a professional cyclist in the 1920s. He opened his first shop in Battersea, London in 1928 and by 1935 had five branches. By the 1960s Claud Butler had become part of the Holdsworth group.

The Majestique is a great looking frame topped off with a nice Brooks leather saddle. The bike rides like when it was new.

Fancy a matching ‘his’ and ‘hers’ check out the gents’ version.
