This Bill Nickson steel vintage racer was handbuilt in 1984 by Bill Nickson Cycles of Leyland, Lancashire of lightweight Reynolds 531c tubing. It is thought that the frame builder was Paul Riley of Preston, who currently builds frames for the world renown Hetchins operation.
The shop was originally started in 1981 by Bill Nickson Snr, an ex-international professional cyclist, with many notable victories in his career, including the overall in the Milk Race (Britain’s most prestigious stage race) and the British National Road Race championships. He also rode, and completed, the Tour de France.
In 2006, the shop was taken over by Bill Jnr, who has also represented Great Britain at elite level bike racing and has experience over many disciplines of bike riding/racing.
This Eroica ready classic lightweight is finished off with a Selle Italia Turbo vintage saddle and quality Mavic rims with Campagnolo hubs. Fine components combined with a wide range of gears makes this your bike of choice for vintage sportives, special occasions or everyday rides. The bike rides like a dream!
