Glory Days pie ride

Pie Ride

Do it for the pie

If you like big skies and big pies and want to enjoy the social as much as the ride then our splendid Pie Ride classic road and gravel tour is for you. Starting and finishing at the charming Royal Oak country pub at Hurdlow, you’ll adventure north on the High Peak Trail, a ‘no sweat’ start allowing you time to adjust to riding your retro racer! You’ll take in a challenging climb as you follow the gravel road of the Pennine Bridleway to reach a height of 400 metres where you’ll enjoy extensive views across the White Peak and Derwent Valley beyond. You’ll take in a pub stop in the small village of Monyash where you can enjoy a traditional pint on the village green. You’ll soon find your legs again for the gradual climb on quiet lanes to join the Tissington Trail at Parsley Hay. From here it is a smooth journey back to the Royal Oak for a well earned luncheon of homemade pie accompanied by a pint of the finest ale.
